Museo de la Ciudad
The City Museum also hosts many special or one-off exhibitions, so look out for these, too.
The history of the building itself spans four centuries. It was commissioned by the President of the Royal Audience of Quito Don Hernando de Santillan during the 16th century as Quito's first hospital. The hospital was inaugurated on March 9th, 1565. At the end of the 20th century the hospital was restored by the Metropolitan Municipality of Quito in order to house the City Museum.
