The Fiestas de Quito are about traditional cuarenta card games, wooden gokart racing, inter-neighbourhood games, colourful floats and fun parades. The Fiestas de Quito, with all their colour, vibrancy and excitement take place every year in the last week of November and the first week of December. ¡Que viva Quito!
The celebration of Quito’s founding by the Spanish on 6th December 1534 is characterized every year by diversity. The celebrations begin on the last Friday of November with an official opening ceremony in San Francisco square, in the heart of the historic centre.
