Holiday Inn Express, Quito Open for Business

Image

In time to take advantage of the summer holiday season, a new hotel takes to Quito’s compelling accommodation stage. The Holiday Inn Express Quito opens its doors this month: another key hotel brand for the Ecuadorian capital. The 141-room hotel brings the latest in technology and comfort to Quito in a hard-to-beat location in the buzzing Mariscal quarter.

The Holiday Inn Express is a franchise of InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), the world's largest hotel group by number of rooms. It was developed and is administered by Turisozoranga S.A., newest PLUSHOTEL S.A., and is located on the corner of Avenida Orellana and Calle Reina Victoria. It’s also just a block away from the excellent ethno-historical Mindalae Museum with its Coffee Tree café, restaurant, fair trade shop and brilliant displays of Ecuadorian crafts.

The 12-stories high hotel has a total of 137 rooms and 4 suites. The new property blends both old and new, since it integrates a heritage-listed 1950's house and a modern block. Amenities include underground parking, business centre, meeting rooms and a fitness centre. The décor is bold and striking, while the rooms boast every amenity the modern traveller could possibly need, from minibar, iron and coffee machine to in-room safe and 32” HD-LCD televisions.

The hotel will not have its own catered-restaurant but will have a convenient deli located at the heritage-listed house where they will offerfor fresh and healthy snacks and treats and a variety of wines.

"We are very proud to be breaking ground on this property and to be part of such an iconic city," said Alvaro Diago, Area President, InterContinental Hotels Group Latin America. "This hotel is crucial for us in that it expands our reach into the region, furthering our position as the South America's key international hotel company."

Rooms at the new Holiday Inn Express Quito start at $110 + taxes, which includes breakfast, wireless internet connection and free local calls.
