Also known as "Chuquihuada" La Alameda park is the biggest story in town. Within the park is the famous "Churo" one of the viewpoints oldest colonial town, whose name is derived from the shape of a snail or churo as its name implies. From the top you can see places like the Basilica, the Hill of the Roll, and Pichincha.
Walking trails through the park you can find several monuments, including the sculpture in honor of the French Geodesic Mission, and the monument to Bolivar.
